Overview

Sandakphu (11,930 ft) is the highest peak in West Bengal. Located on the Indo-Nepal border inside Singalila National Park, the famous trek offers rare panoramic views of four of the world's five highest mountains—Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, and Makalu—including the iconic "Sleeping Buddha" snow formation.

45 to 50 km of walking trail (varies by route)Difficulty: Moderate, suitable for fit beginners.

Best Time: Spring (March to May) for blooming rhododendrons or Autumn (October to November) for clear skies.

Route Highlights : Starting Point: Usually begins at Manebhanjan or Sepi, reachable via Siliguri/NJP.Cross-Border Trail: The path crisscrosses between India and Nepal, passing through scenic hamlets like Tumling, Kali pokhari, and Gurdum or Srikhola. Flora and Fauna: Walks through dense forests of oak, bamboo, and magnolias, with chances to spot local wildlife inside Singalila National Park.

Itinerary

At NJP or Bagdogra Airport our tour manager or trusted driver receives and proceed to Maneybhanjan. Enroute visit Mirik Lake, Gopal Dhara Tea Garden, Simana View point. On arrival check in homestay. Take your lunch. Evening free to walk at local market and here road aside Nepal, but no border. Night stay in Maneybhanjan.
